When people book an appointment to visit our Scunthorpe showroom, they usually arrive with a few specific worries. Buying a hot tub is a significant decision and there is a lot of conflicting advice online. Here are the three questions we get asked most, with our honest answers.

How much will running a hot tub actually cost?

It depends on how often you use it, the temperature you keep it at, the time of year and your energy tariff. Anyone giving you a guaranteed monthly figure without knowing those things is guessing.

What we can say is that your heating method makes a real difference. Over twenty of our spas include a free 5kW air source heat pump, which the supplier rates at up to 75% cheaper heating than a standard electric heater. The other thing that matters more than people expect is the cover — a tired, waterlogged cover will cost you more every month than any upgrade will save you.

Is a pre-loved hot tub a safe choice?

It depends entirely on who prepared it. Buying second-hand privately off a driveway is a gamble, because nobody has looked inside it and there is no comeback if it fails.

Ours are stripped down, inspected, deep-cleaned and serviced by our own engineers before they go on sale, and they come with 90 days of electrical cover, with extended cover available on top. If you want time to think, a pre-loved spa can be held with a £99 deposit and the balance is due 48 hours before delivery.

What do I need to prepare before delivery?

A solid, level base and the electrical supply, both finished before we arrive. We connect the spa to the supply you have had installed, but we do not install the supply itself — that is a job for a qualified electrician.

Once those are ready, we take over. Delivery across the UK mainland includes positioning, connecting, filling, testing and a proper handover, so you are not left working it out from a manual.
